Individual tickets go on sale May 29 for the new musical GIRLS VS. BOYS, a collaboration between the American Music Theatre Project and The House Theatre of Chicago. Opening July 10 at Northwestern University, this audacious, exhilarating new musical was developed as part of the American Music Theatre Project's initiative to support the creation of innovative and adventurous new musicals by leading artists. GIRLS VS. BOYS plunges the audience into a modern day Lord of the Flies where a brother and sister's first day of school turns into a game that they can't win - but they've got to play not to lose.

The award-winning House Theatre creative team who brought Chicago audiences The Sparrow developed GIRLS VS. BOYS through an in-class workshop process with Northwestern University undergraduates led by director, Nathan Allen. GIRLS VS. BOYS plunges the audience into a full on battle of the sexes that examines the human hunger for connection and challenges the storybook ideal of love. Nathan Allen, Artistic Director of The House Theatre of Chicago, describes this collaboration as "an exciting, creative building process". GIRLS VS. BOYS will make its professional debut at The House Theatre of Chicago in the Spring of 2010 as part of their 2009-2010 season.

GIRLS VS. BOYS is directed by two-time Jeff Award-winner Nathan Allen and features original music by Kevin O'Donnell with Allen, book and lyrics by Jeff-award winning trio Chris Matthews, Jack Minton and Nathan Allen and choreography by Tommy Rapley.

GIRLS VS. BOYS will run for a limited engagement July 10 through August 2 in the Hal and Martha Hyer Wallis Theatre at Northwestern University (1949 Campus Drive Evanston, IL 60208).
