Northwestern University's Dolphin Show, America's largest student-produced musical, is proud to announce that its 75th annual production, Little Shop of Horrors, will tour Bosnia and Herzegovina after a successful run in Cahn Auditorium this past January. The tour is part of the U.S. Embassy to Bosnia and Herzegovina's cultural diplomacy program and will be the first production of this well-loved musical in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In addition to performances in the cities of Banja Luka, Doboj, Mostar and Sarajevo, the Northwestern students will also conduct workshops with Bosnian theatre students and meet other theater professionals in the country. "This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I cannot wait to see our wacky little show on a European stage," says Business Producer and Communication senior, Janie Dickerson.

"We are delighted to bring Northwestern University's Dolphin Show to Bosnia and Herzegovina," says says Elizabeth Blumenthal, the cultural affairs officer for the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo and a Northwestern alumna. "The musical is a uniquely American art form and Little Shop of Horrors is a great example of the genre, so we're really excited to share it with Bosnian audiences. The fact that the Dolphin Show is produced entirely by students also sends a very positive message to young people here in Bosnia and Herzegovina about how much you can accomplish when you're engaged and committed."

From the award-winning team of Alan Menken and Howard Ashman (the composer and lyricist of The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast), Little Shop of Horrors tells the story of Seymour Krelborn, a down-and-out clerk in a flower shop who dreams of a better life with his secret crush, Audrey. When Seymour discovers an exotic plant and becomes famous overnight, he thinks he's found his ticket to Audrey's heart, but little does he know the plant has a brain of its own and a secret plot to take over the world!

The Dolphin Show is proud to bring its production of Little Shop of Horrors to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since 1940, the Dolphin Show has produced over 70 musicals and is proud to be America's largest student-produced musical, with students filling every role both on and off stage. Famous Dolphin Show alumni include David Schwimmer, Sheldon Harnick, former Miss America Kate Shindle, and Jason Moore (Avenue Q, Sisters and Pitch Perfect).

Little Shop of Horrors is produced by seniors Janie Dickerson (School of Communication) and Bailey Sutton (Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences), and directed by senior Maggie Monahan (School of Communication). The company includes Northwestern students Robert Cunningham, Mariah Copeland, Hale McSharry, Ryan Foreman, Emma Griffone, Lena Dudley, Brianna Dorn, Amira Danan, Matthew Burgess, Landon Hegedus, Jared Decker and Matthew Kresch.
