Modern Dance Theater Company Breaks Bubbles with OUT OF THE ECHO CHAMBER

By:

J. Lindsay Brown Dance is excited to broaden horizons with the premier of Out of the Echo Chamber at Dovetail Studios (2853 W Montrose Ave), on March 31st & April 1st at 7:45pm. Out of the Echo Chamber is a collaborative showcase featuring works from J. Lindsay Brown Dance, Airyn Digman & Jessica Madden, Megan Rhodes, and Earlyn Whitehead. A collection of old and new works, J. Lindsay Brown will also premier excerpts from her newest project "Things that Should be Danced", based on Sei Sh?nagon's ancient Japanese text "The Pillow Book". This concert features screen dances, tap, interdisciplinary collaboration, and more, so do not miss out! Tickets are $20, $15 for artists/performers, and may be purchased at www.echochamber.bpt.me.

Our trustworthy friend, Wikipedia, describes the echo chamber as "a metaphorical description of a situation in which information, ideas, or beliefs are amplified or reinforced by transmission and repetition inside an 'enclosed' system, where different or competing views are censored, disallowed, or otherwise underrepresented." In the age of social media and self-imposed isolation, J. Lindsay Brown Dance is ready to break some bubbles. Out of the Echo Chamber enlightens and entertains by challenging the preconceived conventions and traditional artistic processes of Chicago's artists and audiences. This show gives voice to the overlooked, the unheard, and the forgotten, and presses the audience-and artists-to identify and disrupt their own status quo. There are many ways to break out of the echo chamber, and this one will be a blast. These performances are sponsored in part by Chicago DanzTheatre Ensemble and Performing Arts Limited.
