LITTLE RED & HER FRIENDS Comes To Winnetka 1/15-30

By:

There's a wolf watch in effect, and Little Red will need the audience's help to get to Grandmother's House! That's the fun of Little Red and Her Friends, a not-so-scary version of the classic fairy tale, to be presented by Winnetka Theatre's Especially for Kids.

The musical treat for boys and girls ages 3-10, opens Jan. 15 and runs through Jan. 30 at the Winnetka Community House, 620 Lincoln Ave. Directed by professional Director/Choreographer Stacey Flaster, Little Red and Her Friends is an exciting, funny adventure that asks the audience to help Red and her pet sheep Feleece get through the woods. Joining in on the journey are a tap-dancing rabbit, a funny Depiddy Bear, and, of course, the big bad wolf!

"I love this show, " says Flaster, "because the kids in the audience are really part of the play. They sometimes tell the actors what to do. They don't just sit quietly and watch." There's also a message about the importance of "helping your friends," Flaster adds.

Written by Virginia and Janet Wilson, with music and lyrics by Janet Wilson and Michael Hendricks, Little Red and Her Friends stars Summar Jonas (Chicago), Marian Kaderbek (Chicago), Kyle Dougan (Evanston), Sarah Jane Blevins (Elgin), Cory Stonebrook (Chicago) and Mark Kosten (Franklin Park).

Showtimes for Little Red and Her Friends are Saturdays, Jan 15, 22 and 29 at 11am and 2pm, and Sundays, Jan 16, 23 and 30 at 11am and 2pm. All tickets are $10 and may be purchased by calling 847-604-0275 or online at www.winnetkatheatre.org .
