Big Noise's Especially For Kids Presents Musical CINDERELLA 5/2-5/17
Big Noise Theatre Company promises an hour of fun, fantasy and giggles as it presents its first area Especially for Kids production of Cinderella, directed by professional director/choreographer Stacey Flaster (Evanston). The musical treat, for children 3-10, opens May 2 and runs through May 17 at Prairie Lakes Theatre, 515 E. Thacker Rd, Des Plaines.
Big Noise Theatre's Cinderella, written by Marc Robin, tells the tale of a beautiful but neglected daughter, her emotionally-extreme stepsisters, a no-nonsense Fairy Godmother, an audience-powered wand, and, of course, a happily-ever-after ending. "Children really love this interactive version of the classic Cinderella," director Flaster says. "Cinderella not only finds her handsome Prince, but she also finds her own voice. She does all of this with a little magic and a lot of help from her friends in the audience."
A special feature of Big Noise's Especially for Kids shows is that children get to meet and talk to the actors after the show. "The kids really love talking to the actors. It's a very exciting hands-on introduction to theatre for little ones," Flaster says.
The all-adult cast of Cinderella comes from throughout the Chicagoland area. It stars Carey Lee Burton (Chicago), Mary Campbell (Palatine), Becky Mocarski (Chicago), Jack Ryan (Chicago), Lori Spencer (Northbrook), Jessica Vann (Chicago) and Tom Walker (Carol Stream).
Show times for Cinderella are Saturdays at 11 am and 2pm, and Sundays at 11am. All tickets are $10 and may be purchased by calling 847-604-0275, or online at www.bignoise.org.
