Anaemic Theatre and Voice of the City are proud to announce their upcoming co-production of YIZKOR, a new devised play addressing contemporary issues of Anti-Semitism and Prejudice in the United States today.

YIZKOR will be directed by Joey Lubelfeld, and features Johnny Garcia, Alec Phan, Rachel Shapiro, Melanie VItaterna, and Peter Wilde. The piece is written by the ensemble, Chris Vanderark, Becky Warner, and Joey Lubelfeld.

Paris, 1938. A young Jewish man befriends a cabaret troupe while Hitler and the Nazis continue their rise to power. Chicago, 2018. A Jewish family struggles to cope with a loss and the increasing fear of the riots in Charlottesville, Virginia. Faced with uncertainty and the threat of death, these two families must test their limits of survival and learn the cost of sacrifice to make it to the other side.

YIZKOR will premiere at Voice of the City studio (3429 W Diversey Avenue, Chicago, IL 60647) on Friday February 2nd, running through Sunday February 25th. Performances are Fridays/Saturdays at 8pm, and Saturdays/Sundays at 3pm.
