Voices of the Eighth Part III: Hallowed Ground, written and directed by Sharia Benn, presents a powerful narrative set in Harrisburg’s historic Old Eighth Ward. This production follows Kay, a college student, as she discovers her community's hidden legacies with the help of Kayah, a spiritual guide, while exploring the intertwined histories of the African American, Jewish, and German communities. Running from February 15 to March 2, 2025, at Gamut Theatre Group, the play highlights themes of resilience and the importance of honoring the past, underscoring the efforts of SOAL in preserving the sacred history of Lincoln Cemetery.
