The Playwrights Alliance of PA (PAPA) in alliance with Hershey Area Playhouse will present the world premiere of "No, No, No! Six Short Plays Of Rejection" on Saturday, June 28 at 8 p.m. Admission is $10 and tickets may be purchased at the door.

A man divorces his wife then refuses to give her the religious annulment she needs. In the future, an android whose job is rejecting human applicants for an off-planet paradise discovers he's a reject, too. Queen Gertrude meets Ophelia "somewhere else," but refuses to believe that she's dead or that she had any part in the tragedy of her son Hamlet. Two seemingly "heartless" individuals face societal rejection for their actions, past and present. A poet who fantasizes - and muses - about a secret sexual liaison, not only has to come to terms with his wife's jealousy and rejection, but also an off-putting encounter with singer Suzanne Vega.

These are just some of the stories that local area playwrights Marjorie Bicknell, Barbara Trainin Blank, Cindy Rock Dlugolecki, Randy Gross and Paul Hood explore in this collection of short plays that explore the ubiquitous nature of rejection and its often surprising effects. The plays will be presented as a book-in-hand staged reading and a discussion will follow the presentation. This is an opportunity for playgoers to see plays that are still in development and to help shape the finished product.

The Playwrights Alliance is a collective of experienced playwrights who live locally, but whose work has been honored throughout the nation. They are bringing these new plays to Hershey Area Playhouse as part of the theater's Dark Night Series. It is the second time these two groups have collaborated.

"No, No, No! Six Short Plays Of Rejection" will be presented one night only on Saturday June 28 at Hershey Area Playhouse, 830 Cherry Drive in Hershey. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door.
