The Playhouse At Allenberry Announces The Cast Of STEEL MAGNOLIAS
Keystone Theatrics presents Robert Harling's Steel Magnolias at The Playhouse at Allenberry, April 6-14, 2018. The fifth production in the 2017-18 Mainstage Season, "Steel Magnolias" is a glimpse into the lives of six Southern women who are "delicate as magnolias but as tough as steel."
Set entirely in the in-home salon of Truvy Jones, six women in different stages of life share their moments of joy and tragedy when they meet every Saturday to get their hair done. Between the gossip, advice, and nagging, they are each other's strongest support and best comic relief. It follows the hopes, dreams, triumphs and tragedies of the colorful characters and inspired the 1989 film which starred Julia Roberts, Sally Field, Shirley MacLaine, Daryl Hannah, Olympia Dukakis and Dolly Parton. It explores the bond between a mother and daughter, and friendships of those who feel like family.
At Allenberry, the show will star Chrisanna Rogers as Shelby, Janice Gunnells as M'Lynn, Barbara Dempsey West as Ouiser, Susan Danowitz as Clairee, Nicole Greenwood as Truvy, and Sydney Hill as Annelle. The show is directed by Chris Krahulec and stage managed by Carol McDonough.
Steel Magnolias will be performed on April 6, 7, 12, 13, 14 at 7:30 PM, and April 7, 8, 14 at 2:00 PM. The show will be performed at the Playhouse at Allenberry, located on the Allenberry Resort at 1559 Boiling Springs Road, Boiling Springs, PA 17007.
