Richard Bradford Named Assistant Artistic Director of Iron Age

Iron Age Theatre is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Bradford as Assistant Artistic Director of the company. Richard has been working with the company since 2009 as an actor, playwright and general collaborator.
Bradford will be working with John Doyle, Iron Age's founding Co Artistic Director. "It seemed an obvious move to give Rich a more engaged and formal role in the company. He has been a potent force in play choice and production for years." stated Doyle

"I am honored to become the new Asst. Artistic Director of a theatre company that has produce engaging theater with grit since its conception 30 years ago." stated Bradford

The company's continual and developing focus on art as a tool of challenging audiences and social change requires the kind of insight and refocusing Richard brings to the company.

Bradford states "I am excited to work towards bringing light to new stories of this day and age and give voice to the oppressed (POC, Women, LBGTQ, The Working Poor) and challenging opposing ideologies to converse with one another to continuously swing the dialectical pendulum."

Help us welcome Rich formally onto the team.

Join us for Iron Age Theatre's fundraiser on January 25th at 6:00pm at the Khyber Pass as we forge ahead with our continued commitment to bring exciting, gritty, collaborative, and socially engaged theatre. There will be food, live music, and prizes; tickets are $20.

For more than 25 years, Iron Age has sought to explore new ways of presenting theatre, infusing canonical plays with living energy while developing new voices for Philadelphia audiences. We hope you will help us to maintain this legacy - as friends and fellow-artists, and supporters.

This evening of performances presents oral histories of the Black Panthers from a ground level perspective telling many unheard stories of the panther efforts for racial and social justice. The event will be February 10 and 11 at the CEC in West Philly (3500 Lancaster Ave).
