Popcorn Hat Players Celebrate 25 Years of Storytelling

Gamut Theatre Group's Popcorn Hat Players are celebrating 25 years of telling classic children's stories to audiences in and around central Pennsylvania. This can only be done in true Popcorn Hat fashion--with a celebration! Once Upon A Time: 25 Years of Popcorn Hat Players is a one-night-only event on July 14, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. on the Select Medical Mainstage at Gamut's beautiful theatre in downtown Harrisburg. Admission is $15 and tickets can be purchased in advance at gamuttheatre.org or by calling the box office at (717) 238-4111.

Gamut Theatre is thrilled to be celebrating 25 years of Popcorn Hat Players. Gamut's Board President, and Gamut Theatre Academy parent, Brad Winnick shared his thoughts about what makes Popcorn Hat Players so special: "So much of children's entertainment is on tv, movie, and computer screens, provided to our kids by strangers. Popcorn Hat Players are real, live, and interactive. They engage our children from the stage and make themselves available to the kids in the classroom and the community."

WInnick continued, "It is not an exaggeration, and I would only be one of many to say, that Popcorn Hat Players have changed my kids' lives. My sons were hooked by the first performance they saw, but it was taking classes from the Popcorn Hat Players themselves that opened their eyes to theatre and classic stories. That has been the true gift of Popcorn Hat Players that my kids will carry with them into adulthood."

All ages are welcome to attend Once Upon A Time: 25 Years of Popcorn Hat Players! "Like much of the best children's entertainment, Popcorn Hat Players appeals to adults as much as children," said Winnick. "For 25 years the children in Central Pennsylvania have been providing their parents the excuse to come see the funniest shows in the region." But don't feel like you need a young theatregoer in your life to enjoy this performance.
