Political Farce THE SENSUOUS SENATOR Will Have Audience Voting for More

Political Farce THE SENSUOUS SENATOR Will Have Audience Voting for More ImageWeeks before a presidential election, Senator Harry Douglas, a smooth-talking candidate who has based his entire campaign on the issues of morality and family values is given an unusual opportunity. With his wife, Lois, away for the weekend, he realizes he may be able to break every one of his campaign promises before the election.

The senator's plans devolve into farcical chaos in The Sensuous Senator as he finds himself trapped in his house with his wife, girlfriend, a lady of the evening, two colleagues and a nosy reporter. The show comes from the same author of HLT favorites Sex Please We're Sixty and Sin, Sex and the C.I.A.

Tickets are on sale now for director Courtney McDougall's show at www.hanoverlittletheatre.com. Performances are at 8 p.m.on July 13-14 and 19-21. There will be 2 p.m. matinees on July 15 and 22. You can also call 717-637-5297 to reserve tickets or take advantage of our box office hours on June 30 (10 a.m. to noon), July 1 (noon to 2 p.m., July 7 (10 a.m. to noon) and July 8(noon to 2 p.m.).

Douglas Cooper makes his HLT debut as Harry Douglas. Jim Clark (Last of the Red Hot Lovers) and Beau Bowden (Incorruptible) play fellow Congressmen Clyde Salt and Jack Maguire, respectively. Wendee Lewis (The MOMologues) takes the stage as Lois Douglas, Harry's long-suffering wife, while Heidi Hormel (The Oldest Profession) plays Harry's secretary/girlfriend Veronica. Christina DiNicolo (The MOMologues) plays the call girl Fiona, Suzanne Williamson (Funny Business) plays Betty, the reporter trying to get to the bottom of everything, and Michael Jones (The Old People Are Revolting) plays the policeman who always pops up at the right moment.

The nonprofit community partner for this show is the Guthrie Memorial Library - Hanover's Public Library.

The theatre will donate $2 to the Guthrie for every ticket sold to the Saturday, July 14, performance. Sommer & O'Donnell - Attorneys at Law as well as an anonymous patron will match that donation, generating $6 for every person attending July 14. Additionally, donations for the library will be accepted at all seven performances.

Since inaugurating this effort in November 2014, the theatre has donated nearly $8,000 to a variety of area groups.
