While the season is almost over, the fun hasn't stopped at the Millbrook Playhouse. Artistic Director David Leidholdt and Millbrook favorite Shannon Agnew are teaming up to offer a new and exciting One-Woman show performance titled Shannon Agnew is Back in the Basement.

Back in the Basement, a nod to Ms. Agnew's first Millbrook play Church Basement Ladies, is described as a wacky love letter to the past 54 seasons at Millbrook Playhouse. This interactive show written by and featuring Ms. Agnew, and music directed and accompanied by beloved Millbrook musical director and alumni Justin Adams. Mr. Adams was the resident musical director for the 2015 and 16 seasons at the playhouse. Ms. Agnew was seen in nine shows at Millbrook including Ursula in The Little Mermaid, and Betty Jean in both incarnations of The Marvelous Wonderettes. "I am giddy about returning to the Millbrook stage, coming to the playhouse is like coming home, and we hope we can celebrate that by sharing some of the backstage stories and most beloved songs from the past 54 years. Who knows, you may even find yourself on stage celebrating with us!" says Ms. Agnew.

The show will feature 22 hits from the some of Millbrooks most popular musicals from the past 54 seasons including: "Poor Unfortunate Souls" The Little Mermaid; "Anything Goes" Anything Goes; "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" Evita; "Send In The Clowns" A Little Night Music; "Some People" Gypsy; "It's My Party / Personality" The Marvelous Wonderettes.

Audience will have plenty of opportunity to interact with the show through games and contests that nod to past Millbrook productions such as The Kitchen Witches, The Marvelous Wonderettes and The Queen Of Bingo. A "musical theater bingo" game during act one, a Millbrook trivia contest, and the "nerd alert" drinking game yield special prizes sure to have you rolling in the aisle with laughter. And audience members feeling particularly brave may even find themselves participating in a very special finale.

Millbrook's own Stage Right Bar will be open for beverage purchase before the show and during intermission and stay after the show to meet the stars Mr. Adams and Ms. Agnew. All bar proceeds go to help fund Millbrooks.

So join us "back in the basement" for this joyful celebration of theatre. The show runs Saturday, August 26 at 8:30 pm, and Sunday, August 27 at 3:00 pm. Tickets are $20 general admission, and for an additional $15 you can purchase a Sunday Brunch Buffet catered by Haywood's on the Green (brunch price includes a bloody mary or mimosa,) brunch seating starts at 2pm. Tickets can be purchased at www.millbrookplayhouse.org, or calling the box office 570-748-8083.
