Fulton Theatre's MARY POPPINS Now Playing Through 12/29

By:

Broadway audiences were awed as the "practically perfect" nanny soared off the stage and into their hearts. Central Pennsylvania theatergoers will experience the same excitement as Fulton Theatre brings one of the most popular Disney movies to life with an all-new live musical production of Mary Poppins running November 19 - December 29, 2013.

"We are thrilled to be one of only a few theaters across the country to receive the rights to produce Mary Poppins and we can't wait to bring a little magic to Lancaster County with this international hit," said Marc Robin, Fulton Theatre Artistic Director, who also directs and choreographs this production. "Audiences can expect a spectacular performance filled with the familiar songs they know and love, a few new twists and surprises... and, yes, Mary will really fly!"

Mary Poppins, the title role played by Katie Sina (Fulton-Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Sound of Music, Hairspray), reminds Lancaster that just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down with a confectionary score of merry melodies including "Supercalifragilistic-Expialidocious," "Chim Chim Cher-ee" and "Feed the Birds." An eclectic array of colorful characters, spectacular dancing and a magical set brings all the fun of the film to life.

The magic of the movie is brought to stage with the innovation of the Foy patented flying system allowing Mary her signature travel means - flying high above the stage!

Sina is joined in the cast by Broadway veterans Brian Shepard (Fulton-Singin' in the Rain, Broadway-Spamalot, Young Frankenstein, Follies, Peter Pan) as the lovable artist/chimneysweep, Bert and Q. Smith (Broadway-Mary Poppins,LES MISERABLES,Fame: The Musical) as Mrs. Corry and Miss Andrew. George Banks is played by Curt Dale Clark (Fulton-LES MISERABLES, Phantom, Singin' in the Rain, Hairspray) accompanied by Abby Mueller (Fulton-Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, LES MISERABLES, Miss Saigon) as Winifred Banks. Jane Banks is played byLauren Elledge (Fulton-Annie) and Michael Banks by Austin Michael Nedrow(Fulton-Gypsy, A Christmas Carol).

The creative team for Mary Poppins features Musical Director Aaron McAllister, Assistant Director and Stage Manager Mark Johnson, Assistant ChoreographerBuddy Reeder, Scenic Designer Charles S. Kading, Lighting Designer Brian Hapcic, Costume Coordinator Anthony Lascoskie, Jr., Props Designer Katelin Walsko, Sound Designer Jacob Mishler, and Assistant Stage Manager Timothy Markus.
