Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre Presents CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES 2, Now thru 11/10

They're servin' it up again at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre with Church Basement Ladies 2: A Second Helping opening tonight, September 27 and running through November 10. Because of the original musical's success, Executive Producer, Curt Wollan decided to continue the story of this same group of women, as they deal with life, death and new adventures in the world and their lives.

This time around, the year is 1969 and the world is a changing.  As folks protest the Vietnam War and women are demanding equal pay for equal work, in their small rural Minnesota community, the ladies of the Lutheran church basement kitchen are dealing with changes of their own. 

The show takes us from serving the High School students at the Luther League Banquet to a church sponsored Missionary Night and the rise and fall of a Viking's Super Bowl Sunday.  From the elderly matriarch of the kitchen to the young mom-to-be, these women find strength in each other as they deal with the joys and upheavals from below the "House of God!"

Kay Francis will play Vivian, and is happy to put on her apron once again for the folks in Lancaster, PA. This summer, Kay performed in productions of The Gin Game, On Golden Pond, Busy Body and A Second Helping. Earlier this year, Kay appeared as Mildred in Squabbles for the Prather Entertainment Group’s Off Broadway Palm Theater in Fort Myers, Florida.

Lisa Bark will play Beverly, and is no stranger to the basement after performing in all three versions of Church Basement Ladies on the 2010 and 2011 national tours at the Plymouth Playhouse and Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre. She has gone on nine tours performing in theatres from Dubai to Italy to New York City’s Madison Square Garden and on NBC’s Today Show.

Paul Glodfelter, a native Pennsylvanian, will play Pastor Gunderson. Most recently, Paul played Sir John Tremayne inMe and My Girl at the Dutch Apple. Paul studied Music and Theatre at Bloomsburg University and some of his recent roles include The Most Happy Fella, Amadeus, To Kill a Mockingbird and King in Big River.

Jessica Unice makes her return to the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre as Karin. Her most recent Prather Entertainment Group credits include The Great American Trailer Park, A Christmas Survival Guide, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, School House Rock Live! and Church Basement Ladies.

Shannon Connolly will play the adorable character Mavis. Shannon’s previous theatre credits include Cinderella as Portia with KC Starlight Theatre, Ethel Tofflemier in Music Man, Vicki Nichols in The Full Monty, Penny Wise in Urinetownand Suzannah in Hair.

Church Basement Ladies 2: A Second Helping! at Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre runs from tonight, September 27 through November 10, 2012. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday evenings with selected matinees and Sunday twilights. Ticket prices for dinner and show tickets are $48 - $54; limited show only seats are $28 and children 13-18 are just $22  and $18 for ages 3 -12 for dinner and show.
