DreamWrights Youth and Family Theatre to Present GREASE

Sandy, Danny, Rizzo, Kenickie, and all your favorite Greasers are here this summer to perform the summer classic, Grease. For four summer nights only, the gang from Rydell High will be singing and dancing their way through the world of love, friendship, and peer pressure. The hairstyles, wardrobes, and music represent the 1950s, but the issues facing the teens at Rydell High are similar to those that teens face today.

Grease is performed by a troupe of musically talented teens from the area and is guest directed by, Nic Ecker. Nic has performed in Grease before but this will be his directing debut. When asked why Nic chose this production to be his showcase, he simply explained, "I love the music and it's always a crowd favorite." He's right. It is hard to resist humming along to musical favorites like "Summer Nights," "Greased Lightnin'" and "Born to Hand-Jive."

Nic is especially excited about some of the unique features of the show. One is the creative way that the crew will be crafting the car on the stage. Nic explains, "Since DreamWrights is a slightly smaller stage, we have no feasible way to bring a full car into the theatre." So instead, with the collaboration of some ingenious minds, it is going to be a "fun and different twist on the traditional car approach." Nic says he thinks the audience will really appreciate this!
