Submissions are now open for Broadway Bound Theatre Festival's "Come Out & Play" & "Plays with Purpose" series'!

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 11:59PM, APRIL 6, 2018

In case you missed the submissions for our festival proper you're in perfect time for Come Out & Play, our theatre for young audiences program, and Plays with Purpose, which focuses on issue-based works and partnering with local charities.

COME OUT & PLAY

BBTF is excited to introduce Come Out & Play as our new theatre for young audiences program! We are currently accepting submissions from productions of all genres geared towards audiences from the ages of 0 - 14. All submissions must be either a completely original piece, or an original adaptation of a work that is in the public domain.

• Participants will enjoy the full BBTF experience, including workshops, packets, a panelist talkback session, and feedback forms from the parents in the audience. Keeping with BBTF's mission to provide playwrights with a full education in producing commercially viable theatre.
• Only three productions will be selected to participate and will each receive three weekend performances in the 125-seat Theater at the 14th Street Y between August 4 - August 26, 2018.
• Performances must run no less than 40 minutes and no more than 70 minutes.

PLAYS WITH PURPOSE

BBTF's Plays with Purpose series focuses on issue-based works, written with the intention of elucidating a topic in a unique way, as well as lending voice to the playwright's passion and conviction. The issue chosen should be one that impacts society as a whole and is the consequence of factors extending beyond one individual's control. Issues can include anything from sexual orientation to gun control to the refugee crisis, and everything in-between.

• Participants will enjoy the full BBTF experience, including workshops, packets, a panelist talkback session, and feedback forms from the parents in the audience. Keeping with BBTF's mission to provide playwrights with a full education in producing commercially viable theatre.
• Only two plays will be selected to participate and will each receive three performances in the 125-seat Theater at the 14th Street Y between August 4 - August 26, 2018. Donations will be accepted at the box office to the playwright's charity or cause of choice.
• Performances must run 60-90 minutes, with no intermission.
• Only unproduced works are eligible to participate. Shows that have had readings or been workshopped ARE eligible. Shows that have sold tickets to performances ARE NOT eligible.
