FIND YOUR WAY HOME (An Irish Musical) Opens in Albany One Night Only NYC Today

By:

After opening to rave reviews in Dublin, Ireland, FIND YOUR WAY HOME (An Irish Musical) is making its' American debut. The show was written by Jeff Strange and Jimmy Kelly two musicians from Albany NY, both who are well known on the Irish music scene in the US and they have been developing the musical over the past eight years. Set on both sides of the Atlantic,

FIND YOUR WAY HOME follows an Irish family as they encounter unexpected tragedies and joys in the face of economic hardship. It's set in 1910 in the West of Ireland, post-famine and pre-uprising. Says Kelly, "It seems to be the romantic time in Ireland that people are drawn to." The play features 17 original songs, many of them in the Irish idiom. "But there are scenes where it comes to America," Kelly said. "There are Appalachian influences, there are blues influences, and there are American pop musical influences."

The play is directed by Christine Scarry, a performer herself and a well-known director of plays in Ireland including Chicago and she is the Artistic Director of the Red Alchemy Theatre Company. Music direction is by David Hayes of Ireland's TV program, "The Voice of Ireland." This impressive group also includes Alex Sharpe, who previously recorded and toured the world with the Billboard chart topping group, Celtic Woman. A portion of the proceeds for this performance will benefit Hope House Ministries.

FIND YOUR WAY HOME will debut in the US at the Palace Theatre in Albany, NY, July 17th, Boston on July 20th at the Hancock Theatre and Symphony Space in NYC on July 25th.
