Brooklyn born Steven Chera is a modern-day crooner and performer with a vintage style of his own. Chera revels in the music of the Great American Songbook to early rock 'n roll with a mellowtoned tenor vocal. His supple delivery can gently pull a familiar melody to unfamiliar places.
Since he started performing at the age of 13, the objects of his fascination have been the music legends Elvis Presley, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, as well as Jim Morrison. He's teamed up with The Bob Kaye Trio, which consists of Bob Kaye on piano, Eddie Caccavale on drums and Lew Scott on upright bass.
Steven has performed at The Oak Room, the Metropolitan Room, Don't Tell Mama, Swing 46, the Refinery Hotel in New York City, Spago in Las Vegas, Hyatt Hotels, The Acqualina Hotel & Resort in Miami and many other venues throughout the country.
Chera & his trio of all-stars sold out 3 consecutive shows this past December starting with The Metropolitan Room in NYC, then The Sephardic Community Center in Brooklyn, and lastly, the World famous Il Mulino's AQ By Acqualina Resort in Miami, FL. His Band consists of Bob Kaye on Piano (who has played with the likes of Buddy rich & Dizzy Gillespie ), Drummer Ed Caccavalli (Judy Garland/Liza Minnelli, and currently with Lainie Kazan & Tony Danza), and Bassist Lew Scott (Anita O'day/George Coleman/5th Dimension/Four Aces).
