After completing a sold-out run at The Duplex, Charlie Johnson makes a highly anticipated return to the cabaret scene with his brand new act "CHARLIE! Anything but Basic."

"This is very exciting work," says Johnson. "I've been constructing the act for a while now, and I'm thrilled to be debuting it at the Met Room. "

In his new act, Mr. Johnson melds jazz, stand-up, vaudeville, and observational musings to create a very exciting - and very unique - evening.

"My goal in making this show was to create an act that utilized a classic cabaret format but was still edgy, contemporary, and relevant. I believe I've done that."

Joining him onstage are Joe Cogen on drums, Chris Agar on bass, and music director Ethan Andersen on piano. Andersen has arranged most of the selections for the evening.

"The night includes some tunes that you'll recognize and love and other gems that you may have never heard of before," says Andersen. "But, each is arranged and presented in our own unique way ensuring an entertaining and delightful evening of music and storytelling"

Catch the act on Monday, March 23rd at 9:30pm at The Metropolitan Room.

"I guarantee a most entertaining evening," promises Johnson. "You've never seen anything like this."
