SMASH Alum Jaime Cepero Brings Original Songs To THE GREEN ROOM 42 THE GREEN ROOM 42 - Broadway's newest intimate concert venue - will present the music and lyrics of Jaime Cepero on Sunday, May 20 at 9:30 PM for the latest of the venue's "New Writers" series. In addition to Mr. Cepero, "Songs About Anxiety and the Boys That Played Me" will feature special guests including Joel Perez (Fun Home), Elijah Caldwell (Generations at Soho Rep), Emma Hunten (Wicked, Next To Normal, The Mad Ones), Michelle Dowdy (Hairspray, The Marvelous Wonderettes), Kevin Curtis (Invisible Thread), Darius Harper (Cirque De Soleil), Larry Hamilton (Madame The Musical), Tatiana Lofton (Oregon Shakespeare), Onyie Vivian Nwachukwu (Rent) and Merril Pfiffer (Mamma Mia). Blending the sounds of punk rock, gospel, and a hint of musical theater, Cepero's original music has been performed at many historic venues in the New York nightlife scene, including Joe's Pub, Mercury Lounge, Arlene's Grocery, Pianos, and The Cutting Room.

Jaime Cepero -Afro Latinx actor, writer, and activist - swiftly became a fan favorite for his portrayal of love-to-hate character Ellis Boyd on the NBC musical series "Smash" from executive producer Steven Spielberg. His musical Francois and the Rebels - a punk rock re-telling of the 1791 Haitan Slave Revolution - was recently produced through MTF Musicals at Joe's Pub to glowing reviews. As a guest singer Jaime has performed in jazz rooms the likes of The Metropolitan Room and Birdland, as well as to charity audiences on several different Broadway stages. His other film and television credits include MESS (Freddy) HereTV/Amazon, Indie features I Am Michael (Kidd) starring James Franco, Dating My Mother (Will), Daddy (Tee), and Disney's The Game Plan. He is an active voice for political activism, and recently received critical acclaim for his performance as Claude in the 50th Anniversary revival rock musical Hair at the Tony award winning Dallas Theater Center in TX. THE GREEN ROOM 42 recently celebrated its one-year anniversary as the theater district's premiere destination for live music and events.
