Rachel Ulanet Brings KEEP ME SEARCHING To Feinstein's/54 Below

Vocalist Rachel Ulanet, who has appeared on Broadway as Belle in Beauty and the Beast, as well as Lovemusik and King David, makes her Feinstein's/54 Below solo debut with Keep Me Searching. Ulanet's funny and provocative reflection on our changing political and social landscape is supported by a strong and timeless repertoire. Performing music from Stevie Wonder, Kurt Weill, Bonnie Raitt, Michel Legrand and Neil Young, among others, Ulanet explores our shared experiences during these unusual times, and their effect on her life as an artist, mother and citizen. Directed by Julie Reyburn (Sondheim Unplugged, multi-MAC, Bistro, and Nightlife Award winner), Keep Me Searching features a trio headed by Musical Director/pianist Matt Baker, with Ray Marchica on drums and Michael Blanco on bass. The show is Tuesday, May 29th at 7pm at Feinstein's/54 Below, 254 West 54thStreet, Cellar. Advance reservations are highly recommended. Call: 646.476.3551 or visit: https://tinyurl.com/y8kd6ntw.

Ulanet grew up in a family of musicians going back generations. When she was five and saw the original cast of The Wiz on Broadway, she knew she was bound for the stage. She wasn't wrong. In addition to her turn in the Tony-nominated Lovemusik, by Alfred Uhry and directed by Harold Prince, and as Belle, other notable roles include Hodel in the National Tour of Fiddler on The Roof (with Theodore Bikel), Mildred in Saturday Night at Second Stage, Nellie Collins in Floyd Collins at Actors Theatre of Louisville, and Fanny Brice in Funny Girl at American Musical Theatre of San Jose. Her original cast recordings include 3hree (DRG), Saturday Night (Nonesuch Records), Lovemusik (Ghostlight Records), and King David (Buena Vista Records). She is also featured on two albums by composer Steve Marzullo: Show Some Beauty, and Kiss Me While We Have the Chance (Yellow Sound Label). She has worked with celebrated composers and lyricists including Stephen Sondheim, Cy Coleman, Sheldon Harnick, Alan Menken, Tim Rice, Paul Gordon, and William Bolcolm, and with renowned directors and choreographers Harold Prince, Pat Birch, Kathleen Marshall, and Rob Ashford. Her New York concert appearances include Casino Paradise with the American Songbook Series at Lincoln Center, along with many performances at well known venues such as 54 Below, Birdland, The Laurie Beechman Theater, The Metropolitan Room, and The Duplex.
