Nick Rashad Burroughs is JAMES BROWN LIVE at Joe's Pub

Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready for Star Time?!? Broadway favorite, Nick Rashad Burroughs (Kinky Boots) returns from touring in the acclaimed production of Something Rotten and recently being featured singing "Ordinary Day" on Todrick Hall's number one selling visual album, "Forbidden," to celebrate the work of the Hardest Working Man in Show Business, Soul Brother Number One, and the amazing Mister Please Please Please himself; James Brown and the Famous Flames.

Producer Michael Borges welcomes audiences to Nick Rashad Burroughs is James Brown Live! at Joe's Pub on Sunday, July 15th at 7pm.

Following sold-out performances of his and Marisha Wallace's self-created Baptized by Broadway at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill and Feinstein's/54 Below, Nick is focusing his attention on the man that self proclaimed "James Brown is a concept, a vibration, a dance, it's not me the man. James Brown is a freedom I created for humanity." This concert promises to jive, swing, and revel in that freedom!

The show will recreate two iconic James Brown performances, James Brown & The Famous Flames live on the T.A.M.I show in 1964 and James Brown and the J.B.'s live in Italy in 1971, with a full band, costumes, and the Famous Flames. The concert will give tribute to this versatile artist and his extensive repertoire, including "I Feel Good", "Its a Man's World", "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag", and "Get Up (Sex Machine)" with arrangements and musical direction by Joshua Stephen Kartes.
