March Cabaret to feature Ricardo Marlow and Sahffi, Step Dancers and Irish Dance, 3/15-18

By:

CENTERSTAGE's Cabaret Series will feature a March Madness performance March 15-18. For four performances only, The Head Theater will be jumping with Flamenco music from Ricardo Marlow and guests, and then hit its groove as singer-songwriter Sahffi and her band take the stage with songs of the '70s.

International singer-songwriter Sahffi comes to CENTERSTAGE to perform an evening of songs from the 1970s. A self-described "neo-alternative folk" artist, she hit #1 on the charts in South Africa and nabbed a #1 download on Traxsource as a member of house group t3N. A graduate of The Peabody Conservatory, she was awarded the 2010 Individual Artist Grant from the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts and The Maryland State Arts Council.

Sahffi's playlist (subject to change) includes numbers by '70s singer-songwriters like John Lennon, Carly Simon, Carole King, Simon and Garfunkel, Neil Young, and even Captain and Tennille.

Ricardo Marlow's credits include The Kennedy Center, the National Gallery of Art in DC, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Museum of Art, as well appearances in Madrid, Nashville, and Hollywood.

Preshow entertainment includes Step Dancers from Morgan State University and McHale School of Irish Dance of Baltimore.

Tickets are $10 (limited quantity) and $30 each. They can be purchased by visiting www.centerstage.org/cabaret or calling the Box Office at 410.332.0033.

The State Theater of Maryland, CENTERSTAGE will soon announce its 50th Anniversary Season. The not-for-profit company serves as a local hub and national leader for smart, provocative, and entertaining theater and as a catalyst for conversation with the community. Each year, a consistently broad range of productions in two intimate performing spaces attracts highly diverse audiences of more than 100,000 people-including more than 8,000 fiercely loyal members, many of whom have been with the theater during its entire history. Additionally, CENTERSTAGE offers a variety of dramaturgical, community, and educational programs to broaden access and enhance the theatergoing experience.
