Lucy Shropshire Debuts 'All Sides of Love' at Feinstein's, 11/3
Lucy Shropshire presents a new show "All Sides Of Love" for her special performance at Feinstein's at Loews Regency, on Tuesday, November 3rd at 8:30 p.m. David Shenton is the musical director / pianist for the program that features bass player David Finck. It is produced and directed by Jim Semmelman.
Lucy reflects on the many dimensions of that most powerful of emotions...love. Love of friends, love of family, love of nature, love that has you soaring one moment and plunging the next. The varied musical program is an unforgettable evening of jazz, contemporary, Broadway and standards all dealing with the mysteries and wonders of love.
Lucy Shropshire's musical roots were nurtured singing gospel, playing piano and organ for her church choir. After studying music and voice at the University of North Carolina, she performed in venues along the east coast; later moved west, performing in major venues in Reno, as well as singing with and for celebrities including Dizzy Gillespie eventually winning the Reno Area Music Award 1985 for "Best Jazz Vocalist". A year later, while in Bermuda Lucy wrote and produced the song "Come Together World," which became the United Nations Song of Peace, winning first place in the United Nations Year Of Peace Songwriting Contest, beating out scores of entries from 12 countries. A few years later, she left Bermuda for Las Vegas, where she performed at most of the major showrooms and she played the lead in "Enter The Night."In 1996 she performed nightly and was the vocal coach for the large cast of 70 in "EFX" starring David Cassidy. While at the Golden Nugget, Lucy recorded a duet with Clint Holmes and performed nightly with his Show. She also performed with Mary Wilson (Original "Supremes") in "Sophisticated Ladies" featuring the Duke Ellington Orchestra. Recently Lucy re-located to New York City and has toured with a production of "Respect". She also starred in "Ain't Misbehavin" for the Two Rivers Theatre Company. She has also appeared on NBC TV "Today Show" and recently on the "Weekend Today" program.The cover charge is $25 - $40 with a $25 minimum. For reservations, call (212) 339-4095.
