The Broadway at Birdland concert series has announced that on Sunday, May 8 at 6 PM, Daniel Reichard will return to the historic room with a spirited variety show entitled "Friends, Acquaintances, and Strangers." This concert, which takes place on Mother's Day, will feature Reichard and an eclectic gathering of some of New York City's most talented performing artists.

Freshly added to the bill is one of the stars of the new Broadway musical Waitress and Tony Award nominee for Hands on a Hard Body, Keala Settle.

Other guests that evening will include Michael Longoria (The Midtown Men/Jersey Boys), tap dancer extraordinaire Luke Hawkins ("Hail Caesar!"), cellist Elad Kabilio, acclaimed singer-songwriter Maddy Wyatt (of the band Wyatt), and more. Reichard's musical director and arranger is Jesse Vargas.

Reichard states, "New York City is blessed with an abundance of gifted people, several of whom I know well, others whom I've known casually over the years, and many of whom I have never met, but admired from afar. That's what this show is about--celebrating the great times we can all have when we get together on any given night in the Big Apple. This evening will be a once-in-a-lifetime event."

Keala Settle is currently playing the role of Becky on Broadway in Waitress, a role she created in the show's A.R.T. production. Daniel Reichard, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, is best known for his portrayal of chief songwriter and original Four Seasons member Bob Gaudio in the box-office smash Jersey Boys, a role he originated both on Broadway and in the La Jolla Playhouse premiere. He followed Jersey Boys with a critically acclaimed performance as Candide in Leonard Bernstein's Candide at the New York City Opera. Daniel made his New York City debut after graduating with a BFA from the University of Michigan with the Original Cast of the world-famous Forbidden Broadway: 20th Anniversary Celebration. Other starring roles in New York City and beyond include his triumphant portrayal of Keith Haring in Radiant Baby at Joe Papp's Public Theater, Man in The Thing About Men, and Emmet in the world premiere of the musical version of Jim Henson's Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas at the Goodspeed Opera House. He can be seen as Frankie in the 2009 film version of the international hit musical comedy "Forever Plaid."As a concert singer, Daniel has had sold-out engagements throughout New York City for over ten years. Reichard is currently touring music halls with fellow Jersey Boys alumnae in the successful vocal group, "The Midtown Men," with whom he's recorded two albums, two public television specials, and played over 550 concerts.
