Performer/producer, Jason Morris, the 2013 MetroStar 1st Runner Up, returns to the Metropolitan Room with encore performances of his acclaimed new show, MUSICALLY YOGIC, at 7pm tonight, August 30th and September 22nd.

Already hailed as "pure paradise" and "an enchanting evening with a remarkably gifted performer," (TheatreReviews.com) MUSICALLY YOGIC plays uniquely as a Yoga class through score, dialoguing the seemingly magical parallels of music and movement, beat and breath as profound energies for transformation. Ancient spiritual science and abundant 21st Century humor meet soaring vocal renditions of Broadway and pop songs in a repertoire that includes "Thank Goodness" (Stephen Schwartz), "To Build A Home" (Cinematic Orchestra), "Pure Imagination" (Bricusse/Newley), "Glitter in the Air" (Pink), and "Who I'd Be" (Tesori/Lindsay-Abaire).

Conceived and produced by Jason Morris (a singer and yogi, as you might expect), MUSICALLY YOGIC is directed by acclaimed multi award-winning cabaret and recording artist Julie Reyburn, with six-time MAC Award winner, Tracy Stark, serving as Musical Director. Tanya Holt will be featured in special duet with Jason. Gretchen Reinhagen, Jackie Krystel, Wendy Anne Russell, and Kathleen Stuart will also appear as supporting vocalists for the concert. Tickets are $20, plus a two-drink minimum. For Tickets, visit: www.metropolitanroom.com or call 212.206.0440 for reservations. The Metropolitan Room is located at 34 W 22nd Street, New York, NY (between 5th & 6th Ave)

"Music has not only the power to move us to feel," says Jason, "but more importantly, the power that propels us to act and heal."

Jason's acclaimed, competitive run in the 2013 MetroStar garnered him 1st Runner-Up to Lauren Stanford's win. Hailed as "compelling" by Carolyn Montgomery-Forant and "endlessly interesting" by Roy Sander, Jason is now a resident artist at the Metropolitan Room with solo concerts, joint shows, and guest appearances scheduled throughout the year.

Born to a classical pianist mum, music was in Jason's blood from the start. A former ballet dancer, and a prolific dancer/singer/actor, Jason became interested in Yoga after a serious injury during a regional production of Hello Dolly! sidelined him. Now an internationally credited Senior Yoga Teacher Trainer, Jason works with dancers and other performers for their optimum conditioning and recovery from injury.

Jason has starred in, assistant-directed, and co-produced many workshops at the acclaimed Actors Studio. He provided voice-over Off-Broadway for Angelica Page's critically lauded one-woman show, Turning Page, and with Page produces the Musical Momentum Concert Series, which raises money for teen suicide (notably, The Trevor Project), sexual violence, and breast cancer.

Jason Morris's Musically Yogic plays August 30th and September 22nd at The Metropolitan Room at 7pm. Call 212.206.0440 for reservations or visit: www.metropolitanroom.com
