Gwon, Alan, Newman & More Set For IN THEIR OWN VOICE Benefit Concert 8/9
An array of emerging songwriters will perform music from their own catalogues at the Laurie Beechman Theatre on August 9.
Entitled In Their Own Voice, the evening will feature the talents of Adam Gwon (Ordinary Days), Scott Alan (Piece), Tommy Newman (Band Geeks), John Mercurio (Academy), Jason Michael Snow, Julia Meinwald, Rob Shapiro, Joey Contreras, Alex Wyse, and more songwriters to be announced soon. Show time is at 7:00 PM.
All proceeds will directly benefit the 2010 New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) production of Nighttime Traffic , an original musical by Wyse. Broadway show tickets, signed theatre memorabilia, and other prizes will beraffled and auctioned off between songs. Wyse is set to host the concert with a special guest to be revealed at a later date.
Jason Haft and Eve Rybnick areproducing the event. The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located in the West Bank Café at 407 West 42 nd Street. There is a $15 cover charge and a $15 food/drink minimum. For reservations, call 212-695-6909.
