George Rae to Bring 'A SCOT IN NEW YORK!' to Feinstein's/54 Below This February

Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents George Rae in "Life is a Caba-RAE: A Scot in New York!" on Monday February 5, 2018 at 9.30 pm.

Recalling anecdotes from his blossoming career beginning as a young Scot in London, George performs songs that have defined him as a personality within the London musical theatre circuit and also some more personal Celtic music.

Featured guest artists include Broadway star and Laurence Olivier Award winner Stephen Ashfield (The Book of Mormon), Valerie Cutko (Tommy Tune's Grand Hotel), Morgan Keene (Disney's 1st National Broadway Tour of Newsies) and music from Joshua Schmidt - the composer of the award winning Adding Machine: A Musical (2008 Lucille Lortel Award and Outer Critics Circle Award winner). Music direction by London composer Matheson Bayley. Produced by Amy Martinez-Miller and Joshua Schmidt. Tony Award winning final special guest to be formally announced at a later date.

Most recently, George played Xanthias - the "breakout star" of the critically acclaimed UK premiere of Nathan Lane's revised Broadway version of Sondheim's The Frogs (Jermyn Street Theatre, London) - where he had the pleasure to work with M. Lane on his revised version.

West End/West End Tours include: Timon/Zazu in Disney's first UK/Ireland tour of The Lion King (George played Timon for Sir Tim Rice at the Irish premiere); Benjamin in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (West End/UK national tour); Schlomo in Fame with Barbara Dickson; Rick in A Slice of Saturday Night with Norman Pace; Ko-Ko (u/s) in The Mikado (Carl Rosa USA/Canada tours).

(King's Head Theatre/Andrews Lane Theatre, Dublin). George gained national critical acclaim and three best actor award nominations for his portrayal of Otto Kringelein in the 2015 London revival of Grand Hotel (Southwark Playhouse) which he performed for Maury Yeston. In January 2017, he was featured in Mark Shenton's list of the ten best leading men in UK musical theatre (The Stage). He is currently playing Cosmo Brown in Singin' In The Rain at the prestigious UK repertory theatre - Pitlochry Festival Theatre.
