Eric Jordan Young performs at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts' Cabaret Jazz Friday on June 27 at 7 p.m.

Since he's been in Las Vegas, Eric Jordan Young has so impressed local audiences that he's twice (2011 and 2012) won the Broadway World Award for Best Performance By a Lead Actor in a Musical for his work in Vegas! The Show where he originated the role of Ernie. Called Once In A Lifetime, the performance at Cabaret Jazz will showcase the many facets of Young's repertoire and his multiple gifts as singer, dancer and actor. Mike Gonzales serves as musical director/supervisor for the performance.

Eric appeared on Broadway in the original casts of Ragtime and Seussical. He was also in the 2009 revival of Ragtime and in Chicago and The Look of Love, the revue showcasing the music of Burt Bacharach/Hal David show. Before he moved to Las Vegas in 2010, Eric appeared there in Starlight Express, Chicago and Dreamgirls. He played the lead in Vegas! The Show for four years.

You may have seen Eric Jordan Young on television in Ugly Betty or Law and Order: Criminal Intent. His original show, Sammy & Me has played across the country to great acclaim. He's been in productions of the New York Shakespeare Festival, the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall and many other prestigious regional theaters.
