The Dramatist Guild Foundation will host musical theatre writer and 2018/19 Fellow Zack Zadek as he takes over The DGF Music Hall for a series of intimate salons this fall. Zadek is a commissioned artist at Ars Nova, a MacDowell Fellow and UCross Fellow.
This season, he is in residence at SPACE on Ryder Farm, The Orchard Project Greenhouse, The Civilians, and is a songwriter signed to Warner/Chappell.
The salons will feature Zadek at the piano sharing unplugged versions of never-before-heard songs from musicals including DEATHLESS (Goodspeed Musicals, 2017), Store Brand (upcoming with The Civilians), Love, Rosie (based on the 2014 motion picture) and sneak peaks of unannounced projects.
Each evening will feature a different setlist and secret guest performers. The series will be curated by Zadek and Hunter Bird.
Tickets are $15 each and are available at https://DGFsalon.eventbrite.com. Each seat includes unlimited wine and snacks. Tickets are extremely limited and will not be available at the door.
On the fall salon series, Zadek says: "The DGF Music Hall has become an artistic home for me over the past year, so it feels like a rare treat to get to share new songs in the space that (some of them) were written. The vibe will be less of a concert and more of a bunch of people gathered together in a living room to make some new music, and maybe some new friends."
The Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF) is a national charity that fuels the future of American Theater by supporting the writers who create it. DGF supports playwrights, composers, lyricists, and bookwriters at all stages of their careers by sponsoring educational programs, offering space to create new works, and providing emergency aid to writers in need. Their work ensures that the art form of theater can thrive, because nurturing and protecting the creators of today guarantees the stories of tomorrow.
The DGF Music Hall is located at 356 W 40th St 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10018.
