Carly Ozard Returns to Rrazz Room with BEWITCHED, BOTHERED, AND BIPOLAR! 4/24
Due to her sold-out 2009 shows, Carly Ozard presents an encore performance at The Rrazz Room on Sat. April 24, 2010 at 10:00 pm. Critically-acclaimed musical theater singer and comedic cabaret artist Carly Ozard presents her newest cabaret show BEWITCHED, BOTHERED, AND BIPOLAR! – where mood and music are characterized by humor and triumph as well as tragedy. The show is co-written by Carly Ozard, Tom Orr, and Barry Kleinbort, with Musical Direction by Joe Wicht.
Carly Ozard's previous show, BITTER AND BE GAY, was a sold-out cabaret show which debuted at the Octavia Lounge in 2008. Carly was named Best New Cabaret Performer of San Francisco at the Cabaret Showcase Showdown in 2009. She returned to Martuni's to debut BEWITCHED, BOTHERED, AND BIPOLAR! Ozard gently and humorously relates struggling with bipolar disorder, with humorous effects along with a hilarious re-write of BEWITCHED, BOTHERED, AND BIPOLAR! by local lyricist Tom Orr. Acoustic guitar and back-up vocals are featured by Brendan Getzell and Jennifer Martinelli. Musical selections include works by Leonard Bernstein, Craig Carnelia, Alanis Morisette, Laura Nyro, Andre & Dory Previn, Rodgers & Hart, Marvin Hamlisch, Queen and more.
Carly Ozard, a classically-trained mezzo-soprano, and no stranger to Bay Area musical theatre, celebrated her one-woman cabaret debut with BITTER AND BE GAY in 2008. Carly has played leading roles in THE GOLDEN APPLE (42nd St. Moon), CAROUSEL (Lamplighters), and featured as Sally in FOLLIES opposite San Francisco Cabaret regulars Barry Lloyd, Lua Hadar, Russ Lorenson and Linda Kosut. Ozard has performed with Foothill Music Theatre, Broadway by the Bay, Altarena Playhouse, Notre Dame de Namur and as a cantor at the Castro's Most Holy Redeemer Church.
BEWITCHED, BOTHERED, AND BIPOLAR! will be performed for One-Night Only, Sat. April 24, 2010–10:15 pm at The Rrazz Room at the Hotel Nikko – 222 Mason St.(at O'Farrell St.) in SF 94102.
