The Amazing Adventures of Dr Wonderful and Her Dog! a new children's piece featuring a book and lyrics by Lauren Gunderson and pop-show tune score by Brian Lowdermilk will have its New York debut at 54 Below on Saturday, June 24. The hour-long concert event celebrating the launch of the brand new book based on the musical will feature original cast members and Broadway singer, author of "Dot." and creator of Dot. on Sprout TV, Randi Zuckerberg.

The concert will also feature Ashlie Atkinson, Julianne Daly, Jessica Dukes, Mikki Sodergren, and Reggie White. Dan Garmon is the music director, and the event is produced by John Conover.

Dr. Wonderful loves solving mysteries with science (also with her awesome little dog Newton). Today, she's cracking her question by flying into space with her best friend, soaring through the solar system, singing on the sun, and getting home in time for dinner with mom (and a special solar surprise). This bright new musical encourages and celebrates all curious, adventurous girls and boys while honoring teamwork and science.

The Washington Post says "The science geeks have all the fun in The Amazing Adventures of Dr. Wonderful and Her Dog!, a jauntily educational children's musical at the Kennedy Center's Family Theater. Featuring a book and lyrics by Lauren Gunderson, with a perky pop-show tune score by Brian Lowdermilk, this hour-long world premiere (recommended for ages 6 and up) launches its eponymous schoolgirl heroine on a quest to solve a cosmic mystery."

Tickets can be purchased at 54below.com for $25. Children attendees will receive a copy of the Dr. Wonderful book with the purchase of a ticket. The performance begins at 2:00 PM, with doors opening at 1:30 PM. The event is recommended for kids 4-10. The Amazing Adventures of Dr Wonderful and Her Dog! by Lauren Gunderson and Brian Lowdermilk was commissioned by and premiered at The Kennedy Center in 2011.
