He has gone from the driving force of the grittiest British Invasion band, to pioneering the San Francisco psychedelic rock scene, to fronting WAR - the biggest funk band of the 1970's, to cutting an LP with an early influence, jazz-blues great Jimmy Witherspoon, to coming full-circle and reuniting his original band, The Animals, for a series of projects and a world-wide tour, to forming a New Group of Animals and releasing a series of live CDs and a recent DVD concert.

Their live shows involvEd Mock bondage rituals, simulated sex, 12-foot high rock stars by the name of Quay Lude singing ‘White Punks On Dopeâ€TM, exploding televisions, chainsaws and an array of semi-clad dancers. Some say they were about 15 years ahead of Madonna, and light years ahead of the politically correct.
Tuesday, October 26 (Late) JOE BUDDEN & Friends Event Page: http://www.bbkingblues.com/schedule/moreinfo.cgi?id=5195 Doors @ 10PM, Show 11PM $20 Adv, $25 Day VIP tickets avaible @ $100 each and include a meet and greet, autographed Poster, CD, and a T-Shirt. Standing Room Only - All Ages Winner of the 2003 Vibe Next Award, Joe Budden has released consecutively the legendary and still unrivaled Mood Musik 2: Can It Get Any Worse? (2005), the critically acclaimed Mood Musik 3: For Better or For Worse (2007) and Mood Musik 3: The Album (2008). One of the most consistent artists to date, his matchless lyrical artistry continues to garner him worldwide respect and success in such places as Europe, Africa and Asia. Known as a purist, an intelligent artist, and a non-conformist, Joe Budden is a verbal straight shooter always keeping his musical storytelling honest and true to life; placing him in an elite league with other hip-hop artists such as Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, Common and Jay-Z. In the tradition of Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart, the Tubes were one of the first bands to write and perform songs in a head-on theatrical onslaught. They simply didnâ€TMt entertain, they shocked audiences into submission. The Tubes were one of the pioneers of the rock video years before MTV became a household name, and used the medium in their early performances. The band tapped into the American zeitgeist and ridiculed its materialistic values, superficial advertising methods, took a poke at religious fundamentalists and often questioned sexual taboos. They took popular culture by the scruff of the neck, turned it upside down, and made it into entertainment.
Wednesday, October 27 BLUE SHOW: The Complete Foxtrot album performed plus extras from very early GENESIS production and unreleased material THE WATCH PLAYS GENESIS Doors 6PM, Show 8PM $17 Advance, $22 Day of Show Reserved VIP booths on floor available for 4 and 6 people - $35 per ticket - Must buy entire booth. A booth for 4 people costs $140 - A booth for 6 people costs $210 The Watch are an early-Genesis tribute band who also record their own material. Billed as The Blue Show - the Foxtrot album - they start with acoustic-based songs and build the tension as they add more powerful numbers. Exactly the way Genesis themselves used to do it around 1970/71. These guys really knew their subject, with singer Simone Rossetti sounding exactly like Peter Gabriel. As they moved into the powerful numbers such as Time Table and Can Utility and the Coastliners, you could feel the atmosphere build. By the time we got Musical Box and In the Cage, the band were feeding off a rapturous reception. Guitarist Giorgio Gabriel (his real name!) managed a beautiful rendition of StEve Hackett's classical solo piece Horizons, made all the more captivating by playing it on 12-string. Performing everything from Foxtrot could only mean one thing - the highlight of the evening would be Supper's Ready. It was flawless: absolutely stunning. Tears flowed. Like most of the audience I've seen all the Genesis tribute bands of the last few years, including the technically brilliant but slightly soulless Musical Box. No-one outwith Genesis themselves has played this song better. I would dare to say they were the best tribute band, Genesis or otherwise, I've ever seen. From rockradio UK
Thursday, October 28 AVERAGE WHITE BAND Doors 6PM, Show 8PM $25.00 Advance, $30.00 Day of Show * General admission seated show - first come, first seated - Standing room at bar * Reserved VIP booths on floor avail for 4 and 6 people - $45 per ticket - Must buy entire booth. A booth for 4 = $180 - A booth for 6 = $270 A bunch of white boys from Scotland playing deep house 70's funk was and is anything but average. The bands self-titled debut topped the American pop charts with the instrumental "Pick Up the Pieces," which was also later nominated for a Grammy. "Person To Person", "Cut the Cake", "Schoolboy Crush", "If I Ever Lose This Heaven", "Cloudy", "Queen of My Soul", and "Let's Go 'Round Again" became some of the band's most well-known tunes from their mid-late '70's heyday. In the '90's, AWB's timeless grooves have been sampled by some of the biggest names in the hip-hop, rap, and acid jazz worlds, confirming without a doubt the strong impression the band has made on a new generation. Young bands such as Jamiroquai and Brand New Heavies cite AWB as a major influence.

Having been compared to the Ramones, due to their longevity and adherence to core principles, the Toasters are held to be one of most influential ska bands out there. Their lean, mean ska machine has galvanized audiences and musicians alike with their embrace of the Jamaica-born pop music style that overwhelmed England in the 1960's, migrated to America in the early 1980s, and went global in the 1990s. The hallmark Toasters sound sits at the nexus of Reggae, Jazz, Punk and Soul and is the musical equivalent of a brass knuckle-duster.

Producer Leslie Gold, the New York City-based radio and TV host whose Radiochick Corporation holds the rights to stage Gong Show Live events in the US, said, The original Gong Show's variety, humor and surprise elements made it not just memorable, but set precedents. There'd be no General Larry Platt, no America's Got Talent, Big Brother or the others without The Gong Show. Our show brings all of the fun and lunacy of the TV show to a theatrical stage production, and there's truly nothing like it.In addition to the talent acts, Gong Show Live's entertainment quotient is augmented by its host, comedian Ray Ellin; three judges - Chuck Nice, Leslie Gold The Radiochick' and Dan Naturman - known from their work in standup comedy, TV and radio; casting by Robert Russell, renowned for the New York casting of hit reality TV shows including The Bachelor, The Apprentice, Big Brother, The Restaurant, Moment of Truth, and NBC's Phenomenon; and the four-piece Gong Show Ten Orchestra, led by veteran drummer Sandy Gennaro (Cyndi Lauper, Bo Diddley, Joan Jett). Gong Show Live even has its own updated versions of two of the original TV show's most popular performers, Gene Gene the Dancing Machine and The Unknown Comic.More than 350 talent auditions were screened for the premiere of Gong Show Live, staged at BB King's in August.
