"In just a brief minute, I will forget. I will be forgotten." Inspired by true events, the show is an unconventional storytelling told by 1940's Hollywood's pin-up Rita Hayworth, as she is struggling with early onset Alzheimer's, and searching for a true identity.

In ME, MYSELF AND RITA, written and performed by Almog Pail, Rita Hayworth in her demented diva's post-stardom life, confronts her on-screen image. Characters from her past come to life ... dance partner Fred Astaire, scandalous lover Orson Welles, and most importantly - herself. During the 50-minute show Rita recruits the audience to help patch together her puzzled memory through a combination of video, live music and dance.

Rita was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in her early forties, which caused tremendous damage to her career, as she was unable to memorize scripts and would fall into unpredictable tantrums on set. As there was no awareness of the disease at that time, her condition was confused with alcoholism and madness, leading to her exclusion from the movie industry.

"Ultimately, Ms Pail does allow Rita's multiple characters to mingle into the people's concept of who this great actress was, in a performance where a single actress played the many roles which another actress had taken on all her life, giving Rita Hayworth some form of control over her colorful life." THE TIMES, Malta

ME, MYSELF AND RITA, November 3rd (Tuesday), 7:30pm at Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street, New York City.
