Alexa Green to Play 54 Below, 9/4
A SHINING HOUR is the solo performance debut of one of the most exciting new voices to come to NYC in some time, Alexa Green; who will soar through a catalog of songs ranging from Harold Arlen to Mariah Carey.
Green, best known for her turn as Glinda in the Los Angeles and San Francisco companies of the hit Broadway play Wicked, will wow audiences with her seamless vocals and a glimpse into her heart in her show 'A Shining Hour' that she crafted with Mitchell Walker.
Says the songstress, "A Shining Hour is my moment to explore a truth that every performer knows ... being good enough isn't good enough. My hope is that you'll walk away knowing who I am; with a sense of my heart and soul."
Adds Green about her stint in Wicked, "Wicked was a dream come true. I had watched Kristin Chenoweth come down in the bubble when I was in high school and thought one day I wanted to do that. It was a beautiful moment."
28-year old Green is a New York City based singer, actor, dancer and recording artist best known for her turn as Glinda in the Los Angeles and San Francisco companies of the hit Broadway musical Wicked. After playing to sold out audiences for nearly two years, she went on to appear alongside Neil Patrick Harris and Patti LuPone in the international cinematic release of Stephen Sondheim's Company with The New York Philharmonic live from Lincoln Center. Adds Green about the experience, "Getting to be in the 'company' of such great actors like Neil and Patti was a master class. Standing alongsidethem and telling this cheeky, grownup story and singing this complicated, complex music was beyond my wildest dreams. Getting to sing with the greats, Sondheim, Lonny Price and Paul Gemignani was a check off my bucket list for sure."
