FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed "Best of New York" by New York Magazine continues its Spring 2011 season with the nightclub debut of the young singer ALEX GETLIN in her show "You're Gonna Hear From Me" with a special presentation by Michael Feinstein himself. The show is directed by award-winning vocalist/director Scott Coulter, with musical direction by John Oddo, who has worked with Feinstein, Rosemary Clooney, Christine Ebersole, Barbara Cook and many others. The 17 year-old vocalist - the youngest singer ever to appear at the club - will be performing songs by Rodgers and Hammerstein, Frank Loesser, Burton Lane, Stephen Sondheim and others, as well as songs by newer composers.

Getlin's show, "You're Gonna Hear from Me," marks the emergence of a new and rare talent on the entertainment scene. "It's exciting to discover a wondrous new talent and Alex is the real thing. She has "IT!" said Feinstein. "I am thrilled to be introducing her to a New York audience, because she is proudly and passionately carrying the torch of a vital American tradition, and passing it on to a new generation," said Feinstein, who has worked tirelessly to preserve the history and legacy of classic American pop songwriters, from the 1920s through the 1960s. "Alex makes these songs come alive, with the special perspective of a young singer," Feinstein added. "I can't wait for her performance on May 15."

"I have grown up listening to this extraordinary music and loving it since I was a young child," said Getlin. "It is a privilege and a thrill to perform with Michael Feinstein's support and with the help of such tremendous musicians," she added. "This is my life's passion."

Getlin's rich, nuanced voice and her dramatic flair have not gone unnoticed in New York's cabaret world: Jim Caruso, who first heard Alex sing at his famous Monday night "Cast Party" at Birdland when she was 14, said: "Here's what I like about Alex Getlin: EVERYTHING. Nobody at the ripe old age of 17 should have such poise, musicality or way with a lyric. But here she goes - singing her heart out in one of the most well-regarded music rooms in the world. When you hear her fresh take on "The Great American Songbook," you'll like her, too!" Just ask television's Judge Judy, who has known Alex since she was born. Getlin first sang at Thanksgiving Dinner in the TV star's home when she was 8 years old, with Feinstein among the guests-and he's heard her sing there every Thanksgiving since.

"My verdict is in: Alex Getlin is sensational!" said Judge Judy. "You're gonna hear from her for many years to come. What a joy it's been to watch this rising star. Run, don't walk, to hear her!" Alex has been a principal member of NYC's Tada! Resident Youth Theater company for six years, and was nominated for a National Youth Theater Award for "Best Featured Actress in a Musical" in 2010. She is currently an 11th grade vocal major and honor student at La Guardia High School for the Performing Arts. She lives with her parents in Manhattan.

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY will present ALEX GETLIN on Sunday, May 15 at 8:00 PM. The show has a $25.00 cover, with an additional $25.00 food and beverage minimum. Jackets are suggested but not required. FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY is located at 540 Park Avenue at 61st Street in New York City.
