Uggie, the 10-year-old Jack Russell terrier who starred in last year's Academy Award winning film The Artist is the most recent celebrity to cement his hands, er paws, outside Grauman's Chinese Theatre yesterday in a special 'paw-print' ceremony.

The terrier posted the news along with a photo of the event on his Twitter account saying, "Uggie at the Chinese Theatre today! THE ARTIST will be out on DVD & Blu-Ray tomorrow!" He joins almost 200 fellow celebrities who have left their prints in front of the famed theater.

Recently, Uggie's trainer, Omar von Muller, announced the star dog's retirement from acting. "He's done a lot of work in his life and I really don't want to put him through so much long hours anymore," von Muller told PEOPLE.

Prior to his appearance in The Artist, Uggie appeared in commercials and had minor roles in the films What's Up Scarlett, Wassup Rockers (2005), and Mr. Fix It (2006). His big break came with the role of "Queenie" in the romantic drama Water for Elephants, alongside actors Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon.
