Short Film AILERON Shines Light on Chauvinism in the Commercial Airline Industry ImageShort film, AILERON, makes its Los Angeles debut at the Chaplin Theater at Raleigh Studios on Wednesday June 7. Starring Maureen McCormick ("The Brady Bunch", "Dancing with the Stars"), Sayed Badreya ("Iron Man", "The Insider"), and Shi Ne Nielson ("Grey's Anatomy", "Home Again"), Aileron is a suspenseful film with themes of Islamic racism and PTSD, as well as inherent problems built into the commercial flight industry.

The June 7 screening includes:

6:45 pm: Early screening followed by a brief Q & A
7:15 pm: Reception
8:00 pm: Late screening

A tough, female co-pilot (Nielson) fights to prevent a passenger jet from crashing after the mysterious death of the captain. A knock on the cockpit door brings further complications, holding the lives of everyone on board in the balance.

"I loved playing a woman who was pushed to the edge. She made a decision for her friends and herself to end the abuse in their lives. Not knowing what the outcome would be, but she felt she had no choice," said McCormick.

In addition to strong female roles, the film features a multi-cultural cast. Egyptian actor Sayed Badreya, plays a Federal Air Marshal, which is far from his usual casting. "I read the script and called the filmmakers immediately," said Badreya. "I knew this could be a great film and I needed to be part of it."

"My goal is always to create entertainment first, so I hope it's a fun ride. If people understand the deeper meaning behind it, that's icing on the cake," said A.J. Wedding, writer-director.
A feature film version of the story is currently being developed. For more information about the film, please visit: https://www.aileronmovie.com/
