Shirley MacLaine and Jack Black Set for 'Bernie'

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Jack Black will again act for "School of Rock" director Richard Linklater's in the upcoming film "Bernie."

The film will be based on the true story of Berhardt "Bernie" Tiede and features Black as a mortician turned companion to an 81 year old widow named Marjorie Nugent (to be played by Shirley MacLaine).
In 1996, Tiede was convicted of shooting Nugent and hiding her body in a freezer for nine months and pretending she was still alive.

"Bernie" begins production this October in Carthage, Texas , where the original murder took place.
Shirley MacLaine has performed concerts on Broadway as well as appeared in the original production of THE PAJAMA GAME and ME AND JULIET. MacLaine has appeared in numerous films including "Terms of Endearment" for which she won the 1983 Academy Award for Best Actress.
