NBC Sports to Present 150 Hours of Bobsled & Skeleton World Cup Coverage This Winter

By: Nov. 30, 2016

NBC Sports Group will present 150 hours of bobsled and skeleton coverage throughout the 2016-17 season, including all IBSF World Cup events, and the IBSF World Championships in Sochi, Russia. The events will be presented across a variety of platforms including NBCSN, Universal HD, NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app, from December through March 2017.

NBCSN will present coverage of six events throughout the season, beginning with live World Cup racing from Whistler, Canada this Sunday, Dec. 3, at 10:30 p.m. ET, and culminating with the four-man bobsled from the 2018 Olympic bobsled and skeleton venue in PyeongChang.

World Cup racing in Whistler begins this Friday, Dec. 2, at 5 p.m. ET with live streaming of women's skeleton on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app, followed by the two-man bobsled Friday at 6:30 p.m. ET. Coverage of the event continues throughout the weekend on NBCSN, Universal HD, NBC Sports.com, and the NBC Sports app.

The IBSF World Cup tour heads to Lake Placid, N.Y., beginning Friday, Dec. 16, and will make stops in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria before the World Championships in Sochi in February. The season culminates with the final World Cup event in PyeongChang, South Korea, in March, where the athletes will have a first look at the track that will host the 2018 Olympic bobsled and skeleton competition.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app - NBC Sports Group's live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs - will stream coverage. The NBC Sports app will stream coverage via "TV Everywhere," giving consumers additional value to their subscription service, and making high-quality content available to MVPD customers both in and out of the home and on multiple platforms. Powered by Playmaker Media, the NBC Sports app is available on Apple iOS, Android and select Samsung devices, as well as on Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Win10, and Xbox.
