Lucy Liu to Star as 'Watson' in CBS Pilot ELEMENTARY

According to TVLine.com, actress Lucy Liu Cast will play the role of 'Watson' in the upcoming CBS pilot ELEMENTARY, a modern day take on the classic fictional character, Sherlock Holmes.

Jonny Lee Miller will co-star with Liu in the role of 'Sherlock' in the detective saga. The two characters will reside in New York City. 

The script is from Rob Doherty (Medium) and the pilot will be directed by Homeland's Michael Cuesta. 

Lucy Liu made her Broadway debut as Annette in the Tony Award-winning Best Play GOD OF CARNAGE alongside Dylan Baker, Jeff Daniels, and Janet McTeer. Her film credits include "Kill Bill: Vol. 1," "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," "Charlie's Angels, Chicago," "Kung Foo Panda," and "Shanghai Noon."

Liu received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series and an SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensebmle in a Comedy Series for her work on "Ally McBeal." Other TV credits include "Ugly Better" and "NYPD Blue." She is currently in the midst of a season-long arc on Southland.
