Voice casting has been announced for the upcoming Dreamworks Animation film "Rise of the Guardians."  Included in the cast are Chris Pine, Hugh Jackman, Alec Baldwin, Isla Fisher and Jude Law, as reported by Variety.  The screenplay was written by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire, who recently released a film version of his Pulitzer Prize winning play Rabbit Role.

Serving as directors for the film are Peter Ramsey and William Joyce. The movie is based on "The Guardians of Childhood," Joyce's upcoming series of children's books.

The actors will lend their talents as the voices for heroic versions of beloved childhood figures.  Jackman's character is Bunnymund (a spin of the Easter Bunny), Baldwin will voice North (the movie's version of Santa Claus), Pine is Jack Frost, and Fisher will play Tooth (the tooth fairy). Law lends his voice to Pitch, an evil spirit whose quest to take over the world causes the heroes to band together for the first time.

Jackman, best known as "Wolverine" won a Tony Award for his role in The Boy From Oz and recently appeared on stage in A Steady Rain.  Pine, known for his role in "Star Trek" recently appeared in the Los Angeles premiere of Beau Willimon's Farragut North. Emmy winner Baldwin of "30 Rock" fame also has received a Tony nomination for his role in A Streetcar Named Desire. Law received a Tony nomination for Hamlet. Fisher's film credits include "Wedding Crashers" and "Confessions of a Shopaholic."

"Rise of the Guardians" is planned to be released November 21, 2012.
