GSN Honors Game Show Host Richard Dawson with Marathon Tonight, 6/7

GSN (Game Show Network) has announced that the network will pay tribute to iconic television host and actor Richard Dawson with a special tribute and a marathon of Dawson's most iconic episodes as host of FAMILY FEUD and as a panelist on MATCH GAME. Dawson passed away in Los Angeles on Saturday, June 2, 2012. The Richard Dawson marathon will air tonight, June 7, from 7:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. (ET).

The Richard Dawson Marathon will feature unforgettable moments, such as when Dawson first meets his future wife Gretchen, who was a contestant on FAMILY FEUD, the infamous "September" episode, when Dawson had to stop the clock because of his uncontrollable laughter when a guest responded to the question, " During what month of pregnancy does a woman begin to show?" with the answer, "September," and the marathon will highlight Dawson's triumphant return to FAMILY FEUD in 1994.

Richard Dawson, born Colin Lionel Emm in Gosport, Hampshire, England, gained fame as Cpl. Peter Newkirk on the television comedy "Hogan's Heroes," and made history as a quick-witted game-show panelist on MATCH GAME and as the gregarious host of FAMILY FEUD from 1976 - 1985 and 1994 - 1995. Dawson became known for kissing female contestants of all ages "for luck and love." He won a daytime Emmy(R) in 1978 for his work on FAMILY FEUD.

Since its premiere in 1976, FAMILY FEUD has remained one of television's most popular and enduring game shows. FAMILY FEUD pits two 5-member families against each other in a battle of wits, lists and survey responses. StEve Harvey is the current host of FAMILY FEUD.
