Digitalspy.com reports that actress and filmmaker Angelina Jolie will be donating the proceeds from the soundtrack to her film IN THE LAND OF BLOOD AND HONEY to the Bosnian charitable organization SOS Children's Villages. The charity helps poverty stricken children in the Bosnia and Herzegovina war-ravaged area.

Commenting on her decision to donate to the organization, Jolie said, "We are happy that a portion of the proceeds from the film's soundtrack will support SOS Children's Villages in Bosnia and Herzegovina to provide stable, family-based homes to children, regardless of religion, ethnicity or gender, who do not have their own families to care for them."

IN THE LAND OF BLOOD AND HONEY opened in theaters on December 23rd. Written and directed by Jolie, the film is set against the backdrop of the Bosnian War in the '90s and illustrates the consequences of the lack of political will to intervene in a society stricken with conflict. The movie features a completely local cast, most of whom were children of the war. The film was simultaneously shot in English and their native language. During the time of the war the language spoken was Serbo-Croatian and is now referred to as BHS. It was recently nominated for a Golden Globe award in the category of 'Best Foreign Language Film'.
