Plenty of food, great company, exciting football and leisurely naps. The San Diego Marriott Del Mar plans to deliver some of these key ingredients for a successful Thanksgiving meal that is traditional and cutting edge.
Chef Jonathan Wills will continue his tradition of excellence and innovation in the field of seasonal cuisine by preparing a special Thanksgiving menu at the Carmel Valley hotel's Arterra restaurant. Roasted butternut squash soup, traditional roasted turkey, honey-glazed ham, giblet gravy, cornbread stuffing, garlic mashed potatoes, a selection of house made pies and more will be available. The meal will be served from 2 to 8 p.m. Nov. 28, 2013. Cost is $42 for adults and $15 for children ages 5 to 12. Gratuity and sales tax are not included.
Reservations are suggested and can be booked using OpenTable.
"People have their favorite Thanksgiving menu items that make the entire meal, whether it be dressing, broccoli and cheese casserole or pumpkin pie," Wills said. "In creating this year's menu, I wanted to take that into account while also incorporating the contemporary innovation people expect when they dine at the Arterra Del Mar. People are seeking a delightful culinary experience, and we plan on serving that and more."
Arterra has been recognized by epicureans and restaurant critics as one of the premier Del Mar restaurants. The Carmel Valley hotel's restaurant specializes in serving the fresh food with local and organic ingredients. Each seasonal dish reflects the best of Southern California.
