The Greater New Smyrna Beach Area is offering an unprecedented New Year's event schedule making Southeast Volusia County a premier destination for holiday fun. "Last Night, First Day at the Beach" is a spectacular series of events running from December 27 th to January 4 th including an Unlock the Ocean ceremony where dignitaries will be on hand, the Flamingo 5K Beach Run, awarding medals in 84 categories, and prizes for the best flamingo costume. Participants also have the chance to win one of 14 new Beach Cruiser bicycles! Be sure to join in the Flamingo Flop, our very own version of the Polar Bear Plunge with a Florida twist.
