Bonvoy Adventure Travel Announces Catered Camping Vacations

By: Mar. 03, 2014

Oregon's high desert cowboy country embraces guests who may name their own price for six days of catered wilderness and extreme sports adventure on Bonvoy Adventure Travel's catered camping vacations this summer.

Bonvoy Adventure Travel http://www.bonvoyadventuretravel.com/ offers flexible pricing on a suggested per person rate of $1,515 for the privileges of camping in fragrant pine forests, exploring some of over 200 mountain biking trails, white water rafting on the Lower Deschutes River that flows eventually into the might Columbia River and out to the Pacific Ocean, enroute carving out cliffs of basalt that offer guests the excitement of hiking and learning some mountaineering skills.

"Bonvoy is targeting a new generation of traveler who is less intimidated by extreme sports and international travel," notes Sean Jackson, Bonvoy Adventure Travel founder and CEO. "We provide an environment that doesn't feel like a group tour but rather like a deluxe camping trip with friends."

There are three July, four August and four September small group departures set. Each trip accommodates up to 10 guests plus guides and crew. See:

This adventure traverses ancient volcanic rock through the Cascade Mountains that are the geographic stars in the Pacific Northwest. The journey itself to base camp leaves the lush green of the Willamette Valley from Portland Airport for the drier climes of Eastern Oregon.

Activities concentrate on the greater Bend region, a favorite of Outside and Entrepreneur magazines. Home base is high desert Smith Rock State Park, birthplace of modern sport climbing that is sought after by domestic and international climbers alike. The nearby Deschutes is regularly named one of the top five whitewater rivers in the country for its Class III and IV rapids. Bend is also home to 11 local breweries on what's known as the Bend Ale Trail, a route scheduled into this Bonvoy Adventure Travel itinerary. At the end of the vacation, there's a detour to Pinot Noir sampling and shopping in Oregon's Willamette Valley. http://www.visitbend.com/Bend_Oregon_Activities_Recreation/Bend-Ale-Trail/

Before each day's featured activity, instructors review activities that may be brand-new to guests and demonstrate best practices with equipment.

"The rate includes all camping gear and camp set up and breakdown camp, gourmet meals, airport transfers to/from the campsite, instructors and guides and equipment for adventure activities.

Setting a new standard in adventure travel, Bonvoy in 2014 is asking clients to decide what they're willing to pay for their journey into the wild. This is the first and so far, the only travel company offering Flex Pricing that lets travelers name their own prices on select domestic trips. With more control over travel costs, Jackson hopes people can find wiggle room in their budgets for much needed getaways this year.

"Some people really want to escape the daily grind, unwind and have an unforgettable vacation, but sometimes the price gets in the way," says Jackson. "We want to give everyone the opportunity to travel with us - at the price they feel they can afford."

Utilizing the simple Flex Pricing box on the reservation page on the company website (http://www.bonvoyadventuretravel.com/), a client tells Bonvoy Adventure Travel the desired discount they want after reviewing the trip itinerary, choosing a date and seeing transparent pricing information that lays out hard costs related to a trip, the markup and asking price. The client then submits the trip package along with the desired discount that will be deducted from the price.
