BWW Previews: Visit THE ARNOLD HOUSE in the Catskills for Ramp Picking Weekend 4/18 to 4/20

The Arnold House, a 10-room inn tucked away on Shandalee Mountain in the Catskills, invites guests to kick-off spring with the inaugural Ramp Picking Weekend, taking place April 18-20, 2015. This is an ideal getaway for New Yorkers with only a two-hour drive from the city.

Ramps, the wildest member of the allium family, bloom in April and are a sign that spring has come. To celebrate their arrival, The Arnold is hosting a weekend of ramp foraging, pickling and pasta-making, including a special ramp-themed dinner at the Tavern on Saturday evening.

Rates for the two-night package begin at $549/room (based on double-occupancy) and include a two-night accommodations in a queen or twin room with upgrades available. A daily breakfast will be served. Each room will receive one foraging kit that includes a jar of pickled ramps to take home on Sunday. There will be a Saturday morning foraging trip to nearby wild ramp fields with transportation included. Saturday afternoon will be dedicated to pasta-making and ramp pickling classes at Northern Farmhouse Pasta with transportation included. There will also be a special ramp-themed dinner at The Arnold's Tavern on Saturday night.

About The Arnold House: Veteran Hotel and Restaurant Operator, Sims Foster along with wife Kirsten Foster own The Arnold House, a ten room Inn, located on Shandelee Mountain just outside of Livingston Manor in the Catskill Mountains region.
