20th Annual Austin Fall Home & Garden Show Featuring FLIPPING OUT's Jeff Lewis Held This Weekend

By: Aug. 25, 2015

Celebrating two decades of bringing the very best ideas in home improvement to Central Texans, the 20th Annual Austin Fall Home and Garden Show opens its doors Friday, August 28th through Sunday, August 30th at the Austin Convention Center, 500 East Cesar Chavez Street in Austin.

Just in time for getting organized for back-to-school, over 180 exhibitors transform the Austin Convention Center into a stunning home and garden paradise with aisle after aisle of dazzling displays, interactive demos and creative exhibits. Beautiful furnishings, state-of-the-art kitchens, wall design, countertop displays, closet organization, sinks, tubs, fixtures and even pools, spas and outdoor living areas are on display.

The Show is thrilled to announce its latest addition--an exciting New Product Zone! Where do the 'As Seen on

TV' products come from? Find out with a sneak peek at some new and innovative 'million dollar ideas' about to hit shelves throughout the country, like a digital tape measure, a fix for your sagging gate and an A/C vent you can control with your smartphone!

For those who envision a more beautiful outdoor living space or simply wish to add some 'curb appeal', there are extraordinary landscape displays with a unique and wide variety of plants and garden accessories. The show also has water features for dramatic outdoor flair. Gardening seminars are offered by Gardenville Experts as well as the Bamboo Society of Austin, who will also be hosting a plant sale in addition to the 400 sq. ft. plant sale by plance.org.

The Austin Fall Home and Garden Show brings together the most experienced and knowledgeable experts in the industry to answer questions one-on-one, give advice, offer inspiration and provide money saving tips. Veteran builders, contractors, remodelers, interior designers and landscapers provide practical 'how to's on everything from common home improvement projects such as painting, gutters, walls, and flooring to home security, media technology, and the latest on solar energy. Throughout the weekend the National Association of Remodeling Industry (NARI) will host several free seminars on a number of different home improvement topics.

On Saturday only, the celebrity stage spotlight belongs to JEFF LEWIS, top interior designer and star of Bravo TV's wildly popular show Flipping Out. Having developed some of the most coveted homes in Los Angeles, Jeff Lewis has earned the title of America's most well-known house flipper. With his larger-than-life personality and innate passion for design, Lewis will share his expertise in finding the true integrity of a house and attracting homebuyers.

While the adults in the family are checking out the seminars and browsing the aisles, the kids won't be bored! Some of the most popular aspects of the Austin Fall Home and Garden Show are the activities especially for kids. And this year's show has more exciting exhibits, interactive fun and entertainment than ever before. All ages will enjoy a 'Birds of Prey' presentation by Last Chance Forever, children's activities hosted by the Bamboo Society of Austin, Arts and Crafts by Macaroni Kid, children's workshops hosted by Lowe's, and a host of live animals to see from the Capital of Texas Zoo. There will also be kids' movies, coloring and craft activities courtesy of Costco Kids. As a special service by New York Life, parents can also enroll children in a Child ID fingerprint and photo program.

Also, who can resist adopting (or at least playing with) an adorable dog or cat from the Pet Zone, hosted by the Austin Humane Society?

Finally, for some fun, end-of-summer shopping, the unique Art, Gift and Gourmet Center offers unique shopping with artisan foods, handcrafted gifts, GO TEXAN products and gourmet treats.

Admission to the Austin Home and Garden show is $8.50 for adults (17+), $6.50 for seniors (65+) all weekend, and free for kids 16 and under. Admission is also complimentary for all active duty military personnel (valid ID required). For best value, receive $2 off admission when tickets are purchased online in advance at www.austinhomeandgardenshow.com. Attendees will receive complimentary bluebonnet seeds and tote bags upon entry (while supplies last).

Attendees may also receive a $1 discount off the price of adult admission with the donation of a canned food item benefitting the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) - a local nonprofit that distributes the food and grocery products in manageable quantities to more than 350 human service agencies that help people in need throughout 21 counties of central Texas. Discount offers cannot be combined.
